Public education has the power to transform lives.

Region 16 Comprehensive Center was one of 19 Regional Comprehensive Centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education between 2019 and 2024. Our center supported state education agencies in Alaska, Oregon, and Washington.

As a consortium of 29 educational service districts across our three states, we:

  • Challenged our current structures and engaged with state, regional, Tribal, school, and community partners to create an environment where all learners can thrive.
  • Acknowledged that distinct voices and unique experiences contribute to more robust educational approaches and resources, so we cleared barriers and supported access to cultural wisdom.
  • Distributed leadership of this work and mindfully listened and learned.

It was an honor to work with our partners throughout this journey.
